The Australian Aboriginal Art

 Photo-1-738-copie-1.jpg

In the early '70s, a small group of Aborigines Papunya (central Australia), used for the first time canvas and acrylic paint, to reproduce their traditional paintings kept which they kept secret.

Since then other communities have seen the emergence of hundreds of artists painting on canvas. With time, these new painting techniques have changed styles and allowed new creations. Aboriginal art has retained its traditional themes, themes and concerns. Each painting is a story, it tells of their ancestors, creating the world and the spiritual connection of humans with the earth.

Today these works are booming and are exhibited in major museums and galleries in the world. But through their art, Aborigines express their demands: the right to land, dignity, recognition of their culture and their identity. Because since 1770, when Australia was officially discovered by Captain Cook, the history of early inhabitants of the country has been marked by bloodshed, strife and oppression. The existence of Aborigenes is denied. With the arrival of settlers, Australia is regarded as "Terra Nulliuis" virgin land uninhabited ! However, archaeological research identifies the Aborigines as one of the oldest tribes on earth. They have been present for at least 40,000 years.
